Hello again from the Fraser Factory! We have been hard at it, sweating away on customers’ cars.
We have handed Peter’s KE25 Corolla back to him after a new engine, exhaust and a few other mods. With a 50% increase in power, it really gets up and goes now! Sounds awesome and the new exhaust looks amazing. We were lucky enough to enter it at Ellerslie Concours a few weeks ago and took out third place in the modified class. We won most of the different sections, including best body and engine bay but flunked out on our story board! And here we were thinking it was about the car! Anyway, it was a great day and Peter is stoked to be out driving around in his pride and joy.
Doug’s 356 Porsche is ready for handover. For those that don’t know, this is a car built by Emory Motorsport in the US. Our Customer brought it in and due to the highly modified nature of the vehicle enlisted us to work through the LV system to get the car road legal. Our aim was to make the car appear as it did when it was delivered so all our little tweaks and changes are very subtle and to the untrained eye, no one would ever know! I think we have fulfilled the brief wonderfully and it is a car that we are very proud of. Hopefully we can work with Emory Motorsport again sometime in the future.
John has had his Jaguar SS100 Replica in the shop over the last few weeks getting the car back on the road. It has not been getting much use over the last few years and he is ready to get it on the market but wanted to know everything has been sorted first. Play in the suspension, brake adjustments and sorting exhaust leaks have all now been remedied and you never know, he might enjoy it so much he decides to keep it.
Stuart’s Jaguar XK140 has been waiting on parts from overseas but these have now arrived and Luke has been head down, bum up assembling. Not long now before we should be able to fire it up and take it for its first drive!
Geoff’s BMW 2002 Restomod has been forging ahead…. and a little bit backwards! Bruce has fabricated a fancy new boot floor, complete with tunnel down the centre for the muffler to keep everything nice and high off the ground but unfortunately a small bubble of rust in the A pillar turned into a bit of a nightmare! Replacement panels have been ordered and new front floors and A pillars are now on the list of things to do. The gearbox mount has been completed and the custom made KW suspension has been ordered. Still lots to do but we are loving this project.
Rob’s Toyota Corolla KE35 2 door sedan is in the shop currently getting a bit of a power upgrade. This thing is immaculate but with a bog standard 1200cc 3K engine, it’s somewhat anaemic! We are fitting a set of side draught carburettors, a big ol’ cam, headers and new exhaust, upping the compression and fitting electronic ignition. While it’s not going to tear your face off, it might tear the skin of a milk pudding or at least sound like it.
Dan and Ida are off to Arrowtown in March for the Ayrburn Classic – Festival of Motoring. This is a high end car show which we have supplied the door prize for and we will also be exhibiting over the weekend. If you are in the area on the 21st-23rd of March, come and say hi, you might even be driving home in a new Fraser!
