Lots going on in the factory this month. After delivering our two latest Frasers to Lincoln and Waikato recently we have been able to refocus on a couple of big jobs that have been waiting in the limb. Bruce has been repairing the body of Peter’s KE25 Corolla which unfortunately came back from sandblasting with a fair amount of rust and years worth of bodgy repairs. It had taken a sideswipe at some stage and then been reengineered out of bog. Every rust hole has been cut out and remade, both doors have been re-skinned, both sills opened up, repaired and cleaned out. We are now just days away from sending it to the painters and it will be exciting to see it back in its new livery.

Joey’s Hillman Avenger has had a good push with the hilux diff being fitted under the car, new adjustable trailing arms made up and new adjustable front lower control arms fabricated. The Nissan SR20VE engine and gearbox now grace the engine bay and next stop will be to fit the wheel arch flares so we can look at buying some wheels and tyres.

Production of parts for the latest Frasers on the build continues in the background with cooling systems being fabricated and all the parts for exhaust systems lined up ready to go into production so we are ready to deliver when the time comes.

Kevin Volvo C303 troop carrier is now complete and all certified and road legal. Now with power steering, new hubs, wheels and disc brakes all round, it is a much easier car to drive and Kevin will no doubt be found driving up a waist deep river near you soon!

Dennis’s 1956 Ford F100 is now nearing completion, it arrived fresh out of the US of A looking the business but nothing actually worked, we have gone through all the systems and go everything working as it should, added new fabricated engine and gearbox crossmembers, power steering, removed the T-gate (the world’s most complicated shifter pattern) and installed a normal H pattern shifter, fitted seat belts and got rid of the solid linkage clutch system. You no longer have to undergo a three week course on how to drive it and it just works like it should. The cert inspection is booked and hopefully there is not much more to do on it.

Colin has his brand new second hand Westfield in our shop currently getting some new seats made up, new windscreen glass, a radiator recondition and a new dash fitted, the furthest he has driven it is from his house to our workshop so I know he is looking forward to getting it back and enjoying it over summer.

If you are thinking of getting any work done before the sun starts showing up again, give us a call and beat the pre Christmas rush.
