This months report will have to be short and sweet so I can focus on building cars! It’s been a good month on the floor at Frasers. We have made lots of progress on making enough parts for the next to Frasers to roll off the line, rollbars, cycle guard mounts, de dion tubes are all works in progress. The orders have been placed for the componants to supply the engine and transmission packages. The lasercutting orders are all underway to build the chassis so we look forward to these growing in our shop over the coming months.
Jonathon has had his Toyota FJ40 chassis in our shop to repair rusted areas, new lasercut sections have been grafted into the original parts. The new powersteering box has been mounted and new shock towers designed and awaiting fabrication once we have done this it will be off to powdercoating and then back to Jonathan’s place for re assembly.
Our 33 hot rod that we have been building over the last few years was delivered to the painters so it is the last we will see of it for a while. Sometime in the new year we will get it back and bolt it back together for the final time. something we are all looking forward to.
Unfortunately we won’t be finishing Will’s Lancia Stratos. Will has loved the work we have done so far but unfortunately this Covid climate can be a tough time for expensive projects so he has decided to take it home and chip away at it himself. Its a shame we won’t be able to see it through but we look forward to any updates in the future.
Progress has also been forging ahead on Paul’s KE20 Corolla. The rear diff is in and the rear brakes are well underway, work is just starting on the installation of a Wilwood pedal box mounted and smoothing the firewall, next on the list is front brakes and suspension.
